[Bug 994920] Re: Disable network / Enable network makes system hang up for a while

2012-05-05 Thread florin

[Bug 994920] [NEW] Disable network / Enable network makes system hang up for a while

2012-05-04 Thread florin
Public bug reported: This is like many others, a very old bug and it is still unsolved, although it is very easy to reproduce it. I am a young linux user, but I could see it in Natty, Oneiric and now I tested it in Precise, both with the standard kernel and the latest RC. uname -a Linux florin

[Bug 616447] Re: Quit does not actually quit applications

2012-05-03 Thread florin
It is not a Rhytmbox specific bug. In the last days I get it for Skype, Pidgin, Teamviewer in Ubuntu 12.04. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/616447 Title: Quit does not actually quit

[Bug 616447] Re: Quit does not actually quit applications

2012-05-03 Thread florin
I must add more data: I am in the position of not being able to close Skype. I X-ed the window and I have no way to get back to Skype now, but I get notifications when people get online, so it is running. Exactly the same with Teamviewer7. -- You received this bug notification because you are a

[Bug 823077] Re: show the desktop shortcut is Ctrl+Alt+D again in oneiric (should be Super + D)

2012-05-03 Thread florin
BTW, I really hope the key shortcuts stay like this, as it get confusing to have 3 different shortcuts during 1 year (it was Super+W, then for Natty it became Alt+Ctrl+D and not it is Ctrl+Super+D). Something should be learn from Windows where it is Win+D for 15+ years and every user know this, no

[Bug 987304] Re: [regression] [precise] 3D apps run much slower under Unity

2012-04-28 Thread Florin Coras
Foremost, apologies if this is not the right thread to post my observations or if they have been previously mentioned. I have an nvidia board and use the proprietary drivers. Like in oneiric, 3D applications (e.g., glxspheres) do run well after a reboot however, after using a couple of compiz

2012-04-12 Thread florin
I also posted on kernel bugzilla (https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42877), I live with the impression that when more people get involved (even with just posting their impressions) it might be a little faster to see the fix :D. We should have a look there from time to time. ** Bug

2012-04-12 Thread florin
Maybe there is someone else from here who installed Precise Pangolin. I cannot test it as I installed Precise on a virtual machine to see how it works (BTW, it seems to be great!), it is not installed on the laptop hardware and I don't plan to install the Beta on the real machine, I will wait for

I got it during the automated run, after I had the first (successful) back-up earlier today. I shouldn't not have a my deja-dup folder in my development web server folder. I back-up to htdocs. Could it be because I back-up sub-folders of a htdocs folder? This is what I coul see in deja-dup:

2012-04-11 Thread florin
A noob question: does Triaged mean that we are getting closer to a solution? This bug makes a system running Ubuntu totally unreliable for long automated run or for any kind of larger/faster downloads (I can never download torrents without hardware restarting my router) using wifi connection.

2012-03-31 Thread florin
Just some thoughts: At least in my opinion, the OS should be something stable that you use for a long period of time. At least people coming from Windows or MacOS/iOS/etc. are not expecting to change the OS every 3-5 months because of some nagging bug (in this case, the bluetooth connection) .
