Using MSI Wind U120. Was facing the flickering display / brightness problem.
Updating the BIOS to 1.0I solved the problem.
Since many people didn't want to(read 'were scared') to update the BIOS,
I thought it would be a good idea to write down the simple steps. It
took a total of 5 minutes for me

With Huawei 1260, it is working, but it is very unstable. Does not necessarily
connect everytime. And the lower side is that wvdial does not work either.
I had to install the packaged version of modemmanager and go back to
using wvdial.

Jerone's patch works, but is a bit unstable. Intermittently connection drops,
and it takes numerous efforts to reconnect.
Also one cannot use wvdial to connect EC1260 with this version of modem mngr
Reverted to the packaged version of modemmanager. Shall continue testing
on another

installed it by

It worked.
First uninstall earlier version.
Make sure you have the latest python libraries installed.
After installation.
Start ConvertAll by typing convertall in terminal or

Tried to connect using wvdial. Was successful.
Network manager still does not work.
The rotating spikes freeze on attempting to connect, and after a minute or so,

Unfortunately the only way I can connect to the internet now is through
the same CDMA modem. So I can't update. Nor can I send an apport-
collect.
I am sending this message from windows on another partition. But I
downloaded the latest RC of Koala, and the problem persists.
