I have those packages installed since always.
Mediascanner must scan the files or they can't be queried by the

This affect me too. Unity-greeter stuck with wallpaper set before upgrade to
13.04.
Wallpaper doesn't change even when I'm manually edit in dconf it's name.
When I'm trying change greeter background using Ubuntu Tweak, new wallpaper
shows up for a little moment, and after that again visible is

looks exactly like Doug McMahon's (#6), and dconf list /org/compiz/profiles/

starts almost flawless, but don't recognize my disk (in gparted or palimpsest

Your advice is useless for me - my problem is however not the same, and I/O
error appears AFTER update, and AFTER reboot, when system trying to boot from

Installation from LiveCD also doesn't start, because lucid don't recognize my
hard drive.
In earlier versions (from 8.04 up to 9.10) I used grub command boot:
