I’ve checked the mp3 player with all ubuntu versions since 8.04. Now I have 
connected (to 10.10) and it works correctly. Seems that there is a problem with 
firmweare of the device, unfortunately there isn’t new updates on entryx 
support page so I’ve installed different firmwere created by TEAC. 
here is the support page for TEAC MP-380 which is very similar to ENTRYX EM-850

I’ve tested both firmwares on two devices ENTRYX EM-850, both works fine, 
moreover I was able to roll-back to previous version of ENTRYX firmware and 
than upgrade it again.
I think it should work for other versions of linux as well, but I had tested it 
just with xubuntu 10.10. Unfortunately I had to use M$ windows to change the 
firmware. ;)
