I am not using NetworkManager because of issues it has connecting to my
wireless APs on my iBook G3 and an Airport card. I had wicd working for
a while, but needed to remove that also in order to connect wirelessly.
I understand that
failed to upgrade to Karmic Koala leaving the system in a dangling
unstable state. This sort of stuff happens everytime I try to upgrade
Ubuntu to any distribution and this totally sucks. Every time I have to
backup all my stuff and do a fresh install and then reinstall a big
bunch of tools that I

and not in NetworkManager itself.
Please file a bug in launchpad for your problem.
When ubuntu will finally fix this issue rather that passing than buck
