I installed the proposed linux-image-4.4.0-40-generic, besides linux-
headers-4.4.0-40-generic and linux-image-extra-4.4.0-40-generic, the
latter needed for my laptop to work properly. I can confirm that the DFS
mounting problem is solved for my system.

One of the sources mentioned in comment #63 now has to be changed to:
http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/p/poppler/poppler_0.16.7-2ubuntu2.debian.tar.gz
Then, the installation procedure is:
sudo dpkg -i libpoppler13_0.16.7-2ubuntu2_amd64.deb libpoppler-
cpp0_0.16.7-2ubuntu2_amd64.deb
why isn't there yet any package update for Ubuntu 11.04 that fixes this
bug? thanks

I don't know if this is the right place to report this but I have had
also problems with the ubuntu upgrade using an old Nvidia Geforce 440 Go
card. I installed the old nvidia-glx-96 using the 2.6.31-17-386, but the
modules didn't compile. So, I tried the 2.6.31-17-generic kernel and it
works.

You can solve it by changing the first line of
/usr/bin/kopete_latexconvert.sh from#!/bin/sh to #!/bin/bash
It seems that the author assumes sh links to bash, and I think it is not
the case for Ubuntu distributions.

Ok, I realized it was only a problem of mismatching between character
encodings used by different machines. I am using convmv between

I have some other clues about the problem. I have realized that tar has
used an iso-8859-1 encoding and therefore I couldn't see it correctly.
But, if I change the encoding in konsole, for example, the names are
correctly shown.

Oops. There was a confusion and I made an error in the description of

by changing the default charset as described in my previous post.
