today I upgraded to xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.2.1-1ubuntu4 and I can confirm
scrolling seems to be much faster. When looking at 'top' it is 30-40% for
Firefox and around 30% Xorg. So it helped me.
Will also try that dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg command.

file from evince, however printer still complains that is wants 8x11,5 paper in

My fault, after I installed VMWare Ekiga decided to listen on wrong
interface (still I do not know why this happened) which was connected to
NATed network. After forcing Ekiga to listen to eth0 it all works very
