I had a USB 3 caddy which was consistent in disconnecting but seems to have
been fixed by this new kernel.
I also blacklist the rts5139 (writing on phone may have module name wrong)
module which is for the card reader.

other brand.
And since the firmware update of the USB 3.0 controller, usb 2.0 devices don't

From tests I found that some USB 3.0 caddies worked fine and some

I have a usb3 cadie with a prolific chipset and it has the disconnection

There are some at work which don't fault at all.

I have being having identical issues. using standard ubuntu kernels for
releases 11.10 and 12.4 . Downloaded and compiled 3.5.4 with same result.
Works with usb 2 ports but not usb3.
My tests :
1. use gnome-disk-utility and perform a read benchmark of the drive.
