apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the
automatic retracer. First, execute at a terminal:
cd /var/crash
Budiman Saputra - I'm sorry, but this hasn't been fixed yet.
It's still plaguing users.

I also get the crash after entering password and while it's supposed to
be installing the bootloader. The resulting USB disc is not bootable.

I find it strange that this bug is receiving no love. It has prevented
me from installing ubuntu on multiple machines at work (that do not have
CD drives).

You can use *unetbootin* as an alternative. It's in the standard
repositories.
