Update Manager steals the focus when installing (as mentioned before),
and as well sets the window-manager urgent hint (making the window list
item attract attention), and steals the focus again when it verifies it
is up-to-date. This is disruptive when one is doing other tasks
simultaneously.

This is known and a bug in metactiy. To avoid further duplicates I would
like to keep this bug open.
