Thank you for reporting this bug and for your efforts to make Ubuntu
better. As Xorg has improved this past year, an unfortunate side effect
of these improvements is that it has rendered several design assumptions
in displayconfig-gtk obsolete. So, starting with Hardy we are no longer
putting
I get the same error. I have a 24 iMac with a 23 Cinema Display. I
used the ATI Catalyst Control Center to set up the dual monitors (which
worked after some finagling). When I restarted this error occurred.
But the dual monitor setup is working flawlessly :)

I also have experimented this bug. Trying to change the monitor type to
Plug 'n' Play results in this error, so I can't change it now.

I can confirm this error.
The displayconfig application will no longer start after have run the
application and then clicking cancel.

I have the same crash.
I serach the orign and found that the Problem in my case the function
_resyncResolution could not find a resolution for both Monitors, because on
Monitor the refresh rates could not be read correct (303 MHz and 304 MHz). So I
add a addition of the FALLBACK_RESOUTION in
