Since the patch is from upstream and included in the newly released xorg-server 1.4, the nvidia blob needs to be updated to reflect the change. Reassigning to l-r-m-2.6.22. From what I remember, there should be a new driver coming later this month. ** Changed in: linux-restricted-modules-2.6.22

Just for everybody to know... nvidia is aware of this issue at hand. So I would guess that the next driver-release will have that bug fixed. And let's hope for the sake of users of ATI-hardware, who want/need the fglrx-driver, that AMD/ATI will not be a victim of this change in Xorg. With the
