From what I can tell both bug# 157191 has been addressed and there is a package for collectd (same as collectl) in the hardy repositories so I think this bug should be closed now. I think the original bug was about no package existing for it which is no longer the case. -- [needs-packaging]

Same here. As you can see I asked the same question almost 6 months ago and haven't gotten any response. It also sounds like based on gmayer's comments on 12-26 (almost a year ago!!!) that the real issue was that taskstats were not enabled and perhaps Simon interpreted all this as a bug in
