This bug is quite annoying as it means that the modem-manager GUI will
not run unless you do something like:
mv ~/.local/share/modem-manager-gui ~/.local/share/modem-manager-
gui.old

For reference, modem-manager-gui 0.0.17.1-2, including debug symbols
package, is now available in vivid, utopic-backports and trusty-
backports.
Also, I only found this out recently, but Ubuntu has a debug symbols repository
at ddebs.ubuntu.com for packages that don't build their own:
I also had this bug. Then I reinstalled it and now it works normally. So
I think there are some mistakes in program configuration, but I can't
find them.
Note that: At first, I tried sudo apt-get purge modem-manager-gui and
reinstalled the program , but program still didn't work. Then I tried to

Unfortunately Ubuntu 13.10 has reached end of life at 2014-07-17. You
