'/etc/init.d/elasticsearch' actually source '/etc/default/elasticsearch' in which all variables are commented... and so does START_DAEMON. I commented the test line in /etc/init.d/elasticsearch to fix this silly issue. Then "systemctl daemon-reload" and restart. -- You received this bug
