Public bug reported: Right now, I can boot with "ip=::::hostname:BOOTIF" in the kernel commandline, and (after bug 1621507), I get whatever it came up with for ipv4 and ipv6. If for nothing more than testing on a dual-stack environment, it would be nice to be able to force that to try both (current behavior, and an excellent default), only try IPv4, or only IPv6.
NOT something that needs to be fixed before yakkety, but would be nice to eventually get back to xenial. ** Affects: initramfs-tools (Ubuntu) Importance: Wishlist Status: New ** Changed in: initramfs-tools (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Wishlist -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1631010 Title: please add a cmdline option to chose between ipv4, ipv6, or dual-stack network boot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/initramfs-tools/+bug/1631010/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
