although old version netperf can not.

Hi Kevin,
From a Hardy Alpha1 LiveCD, I did the following:
1. Added the multiverse repo to my /etc/apt/sources.list
2. sudo apt-get update
3. sudo apt-get install netperf
netperf version 2.4.4-1ubuntu1 seemed to install just fine. So I assume
you are trying to build netperf by hand? If so,
