Are you sure you installed the package from the default Ubuntu
repository? I'm maintaining fs-uae in Debian and the package gets
imported to Ubuntu automatically. I don't see the issue you are
reporting here.
Also, I just updated the package to version 3.0.2 today.

running pip3 install lhafile removed the warning about lhafile, but the
program still fails to start.
I managed to obtain a log from the python3.6 pop-up that appears, which
I have attached as well.
