aidave, your issue is that you are mixing some drivers (like nvidia) which support Xinerama, with drivers which support Xrandr (ati radeon). You need to use drivers which all use Xinerama, so you need to revert to an older -ati, like version 6.6.3 from Feisty. Then it will work. Presumably

If you prefer to keep your Xinerama config, you need to revert to an older -ati, like version 6.6.3 from Feisty. For migration, we do not support automagical conversion of Xinerama configs to Xrandr configs. Ubuntu has never supported creating Xinerama layouts for you prior to Gutsy, so such

My bug is about multiple graphics cards in Ubuntu, which was deleted as a dupe of this one. Ubuntu simply cannot handle 3 graphics cards at once (at least mine). I know this is not my issue because Mandriva Linux easily detects and sets these up, with no hassle whatsoever. Ubuntu likes having 2,
