Public bug reported:

Hi,

I was wondering why I could not launch chromium from Lubuntu desktop
since upgrading to 20.04.

The chromium package has been replaced by a stub package which just
installs the chromium snap. The desktop launcher just does not show an
entry for chromium.

The reason might be that

/usr/share/applications/chromium-browser.desktop

contains

NoDisplay=true

After removing this line, everything works fine and as normal, desktop
launcher has an entry and it works.

So why does that file contain that line inhibiting it's function?
