Public bug reported: Hi,
I'm currently trying to enable the latest version of the cura-slicer app to print on a USB-connected 3D-Printer (it has a built-in USB-serial- converter) Bus 001 Device 003: ID 1a86:7523 QinHeng Electronics HL-340 USB-Serial adapter Even after the author recently added the raw connection and connections now are # snap connections | fgrep cura-slicer content[gnome-3-38-2004] cura-slicer:gnome-3-38-2004 gnome-3-38-2004:gnome-3-38-2004 - content[gtk-3-themes] cura-slicer:gtk-3-themes gtk-common-themes:gtk-3-themes - content[icon-themes] cura-slicer:icon-themes gtk-common-themes:icon-themes - content[sound-themes] cura-slicer:sound-themes gtk-common-themes:sound-themes - desktop cura-slicer:desktop :desktop - desktop-legacy cura-slicer:desktop-legacy :desktop-legacy - gsettings cura-slicer:gsettings :gsettings - home cura-slicer:home :home - mount-observe cura-slicer:mount-observe :mount-observe manual network cura-slicer:network :network - network-bind cura-slicer:network-bind :network-bind - network-manager-observe cura-slicer:network-manager-observe :network-manager-observe - opengl cura-slicer:opengl :opengl - raw-usb cura-slicer:raw-usb :raw-usb manual removable-media cura-slicer:removable-media :removable-media manual unity7 cura-slicer:unity7 :unity7 - wayland cura-slicer:wayland :wayland - x11 cura-slicer:x11 :x11 - Note, that cura-slicer:mount-observe , cura-slicer:removable-media , and cura-slicer:raw-usb have been added, it still doesn't print. Instead I have hundreds of kernel error messages of the type [87557.508219] audit: type=1400 audit(1636805709.652:2164): apparmor="DENIED" operation="open" profile="snap.cura-slicer.cura" name="/sys/devices/pnp0/00:04/id" pid=157463 comm="python3" requested_mask="r" denied_mask="r" fsuid=1000 ouid=0 and I have noe clue how to debug this, since I have no idea – and, even worse, not found any documentation or specification about snapd's security model and armor rules and how to change them – where to start.
