Hello
I have the same problem on Hardy Heron, for external USB drives ...
Here is the dmesg file.
I do not plan to upgrade to Ibex, since I've just re-installed Hardy after a
disastrous Ibex upgrade... I'll try to install the kernel update...
** Attachment added: dmesg
How can I install the proposed kernel update in Hardy? I can't find the
package in synaptic...

OK... I don't know if my problem is the same as above, but I found the
sequence of action creating my problem :
- The problem arise when I load a movie DVD and play it with Kaffeine-
xine (for the DVD menus). When I eject the DVD after closing Kaffeine,
all my USB external drives unmount.
The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the

Hi Leann,
I was not able to reproduce it via my previous method (stopped after 30
tries). I did however, reproduce it by opening and closing my dvd-drive
containing an audio cd. This was in hardy (with latest updates). I
attached complete dmesg.
** Attachment added: dmesg after usb storage
Hi whoop,
After you notice the drive unmounts itself, would you be able to capture
your entire dmesg output and attach it to this bug report. Just curious
if any other interesting error messages are getting logged. Thanks.
