Public bug reported:

Hi there!

I have found a strange but annoying bug since I work with Hardy (I didn't have
this problem in Feisty). First I thought it was related to kdm4 but I changed
it back to kdm and it is still there. The desktop I use is kde3 (though I have
kde4 installed as well).
I am working using Konqueror (doxygen) and gvim, and I receive an email (a pop
up tells me that). I go to kmail to read it (in a different desktop) and when I
go back to the desktop with Konqueror and gvim the content inside their windows
has disappeared. In Konqueror it is black and when one scrolls up and down the
contents usually come back (sometimes I cannot even scroll on that tab). In
gvim is similar (but white), rescaling the window refreshes its contents. On
top of that, when a window gets on top of gvim, the text below that window
disappears when one gets back to gvim. This lasts for few minutes usually,
afterwards everything works as normal. But sometimes I have to restart gvim.

I think it happens as well when I receive an email with evolution (ghhgh
due to M$ exchange...). So I believe it has something to do with the pop
up window that tells the email has arrived.

More strangely, firefox is not affected by that (I think the konsole
is). And I think is not happening in every single email.

I don't know exactly which information should I provide...
I have nvidia graphics card on a dell laptop. Kde 3.5.9 (I upgrade regularly).
I do not have any desktop effects (well... as far as I know). XServer: X.org,
Version Number 11.0

I can survive with it, but any help is welcome! and hey, we have to contribute
polishing this still rough ends in Kubuntu, don't we?
All the best,
Ruben
