doesn't solve anything, It had to be a complete driver, now integrated in

I installed all dependencies required for compilation (libusb-1.0.0-dev,
libnss3-dev,...)

uncompressed it

Great! Long time i watch this bug and now there is a valid patch.
I' have Debian wheezy amd64
I've patched indicated source, make a .deb and installed with
checkinstall patched libfrint install libfprint-demo from sid debian
packages.
I also reboot but when open fprint-demo i see a little window
you need to re-install fprint_demo libpam-fprint and remember to
launch fprint_demo with superuser permission, and check if the new
libfprint (patched) is installed in the correct directory...

think there are no libraries missing.

Succesfully installed on Archlinux:
$ patch -p1 ...
$ ./configure make

--- Makes pacman think libfprint is installed from repo

Scanner works fine and shows my fingerprints but verification and
identification of finger constantly

and i've saved the patch (post 78) with a console I entered into the folder
with un-tarred libfprint (in my case cd ~/Downloaded/libfprint-0.3.0) from here
I do this command:

i finish to write the driver fo Validity VFS101. I use it from a couple
of day with good result.
For verify the implementation i need tester. If i receive positive
feedback i will work to merge it into library.
Attached the patch for libfprint 0.3.0. To compile it run:
autoreconf
I try to install the patch, (I'm back to linux after a lot of years of forced
windows)...
I have done right click save link as... I go to folder in a shell and when I
try to compile with:
autoreconf ./configure make
i have this error:

You need to unpack the source, go into the directory and apply the
patch, for example:

After a lot of miss dependences I have compiled it!!!
After the command sudo make install (this command put the file in the wrong
directory {/usr/local/lib} but no problem i have copied in right place
{/etc/lib64}) and I have re-installed form repo (ubuntu 10.10) fprint_demo, it
stuck on

I have just talked with HP support, and they have told me that:
Bus 001 Device 005: ID 138a:0007 DigitalPersona, Inc
textual words: This unit is shipped with Validity Fingerprint Sensor.
So there exists also the issue that it is not correctly recognised.
