I know you mean well, but you a complicated person, arent you, Leann. I
guess its a Language barrier.
I run the requested test, and with /etc/acpi/sleep.sh force it seems to
work.
But can run it any other way.
Still the visible problem is the fact that it doesnt show up on GNOME
Menus
BUGabundo and I have chatted in #ubuntu-bugs on FreeNode and have agreed
that this bug will be closed with respect to the kernel as
Suspend/Resume does not appear to be an issue. I'm also closing the
acpi-support task as it is unrelated. Thanks.

Hi BUGabundo,
Ok, I think I understand now. It's helpful to the development teams if
bug reports target one specific issue. This bug report will focus on
the kernel issue of why Suspend is failing to resume. The issue of FUSA
not listing the options to Suspend/Hibernate is an unrelated issue
I'm sorry Leann... I rather see the lack of Suspend fixed!
The fail to resume only happend when I tested from a Daily LiveCD of RC.
Its much harder to test (especially since usb-creator is non-working at
the moment, and I cant keep burning media to test it)
On my system, since I dont even have
I think you are making some confusion, so if need be, I can change the OP to be
more clear:
With my currently installed system, I can see Hibernate from FUSA, and System
Menu.
It works fine. But remember that I need to have uswsusp installed. without it,
I cant see that option.
Suspend is not

Hi Leann.
I'll those in a bit, laptop is rebooting.
I burned a CD with RC and Suspend is available there on FUSA. Hibernate is
not, but I guess thats because I'm running a LiveCD.
I tried clicking in suspend, and system went into power save, but it
wasnt able to come back. I just got a black

Thanks BUGabundo,
Yes, you are only able to test Suspend via a LiveCD, not Hibernate. You
mention it's the resume that is failing so can you take a look at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingKernelSuspend and attach your dmesg
output after an attempted suspend/resume cycle? Thanks.

I'm also closing the gnome-power-manager task as this is likely a kernel
issue.
