I too have an annoying 0.2sec delay whenever i did alt-tab switching and i found a solution! It's actually configurable... for some reason compiz defaults an alt- tab delay of 0.2sec. You need to change that from 0.2sec to 0sec. I'm on 11.04 btw. Go to Control Center - CompizConfig Settings
