confirms
This is still an issue in Karmic, as of today. It's definitely low
priority, as I haven't researched it for over a year, but it is
annoying. Unfortunately, it's not something that I can reproduce
reliably. That's why it's so low priority ... because it only happens
between 50 and 75 percent of

Do you still get this with the latest Compiz? I can't recreate this here at
all.
Yes. I see this on up-to-date Jaunty now.

Recently (I think about the same time I began noticing bug 364838) the
Exit options window on this system) began opening BEHIND the active
window, and other windows on the desktop no longer dim out as they had
previously. I can click it on the task panel and bring the Exit window
to the front,

I can't get the calendar to pop up in background (and have never seen
this). But the issue looks really similar.

Without compiz it doesn't happen. The window spawns in the foreground,
though it sometimes doesn't get the focus.
Blowing aways /apps/metacity , /apps/compiz , /apps/compizconfig at the
same time seems to have solved it. (compiz must be reading some metacity
settings?)
Now that it's solved for

Thank you for your bug report. That doesn't sound like a panel bug - the
window that appears is part of gnome-session. I can't recreate this
either, so it might be something specific to your window manager
settings. Could you please run gconftool-2 -R /apps/compiz
compiz.gconf and attach the

This also happens for the Log Out of the session window btw.
If you can't easily spot the problematic setting it's probably not worth
investigation further and i will reset compiz to default... (delete the
compiz tree in gconf-editor?)

Shut Down the Computer-window spawns behind active
