I’m the new maintainer of cvs. I will not make a separate package, but
cvs will NO LONGER install a “server”. Is that okay for you?

I second this feature request.
It would make more sense structurally, because you really should only
install what you need. Especially, you should not be forced to install
any unnecessary servers or daemons.
Moreover, it would also be clearer to the user. Right now, you don't
really know what
