I had this exact problem a few months back, and changing my password
fixed it at the time. Yesterday it happened again, and I can't fix it.
Things I tried:
- changing my password
- setting my password to never expire
- rebooting
- logging into Windows to see if there was a message (there wasn't)
Actually it's been working great for me since my last comment. I'm
running Karmic 32-bit with gnome-screensaver 2.28.0-0ubuntu3.5 and
likewise-open5-lsass 5.0.3991.1+krb5-0ubuntu2 now.
I've also set my password to never expire.

Can confirm this is still a bug in 9.10 (64 bit) using gnome-screensaver
2.28.0-0ubuntu3.4. Only happens when Likewise reports the users password
is about to expire.
However I agree with comments #3 and #5 as this is a showstopper for AD
integration and adoption of Likewise in enterprises. Many
Seems like this is fixed in gnome-screensaver 2.28.0-0ubuntu3.3
available in the repository for Karmic now. At least in my case.

You
We set the account to never expire in AD and now I can unlock if i
type the password correctly, but it still locks the account in AD if I
typo the password. My account has been locked out on average 3 times
per day since I set up likewise.
I don't know if this is a separate bug but it is
This bug causes my account to be locked in the Active Directory every
time I put a password, correct or otherwise, in the unlock screen
dialog. This makes likewise unusable for me as I cannot be bothering
the domain admins to unlock my account every time I forget to use the
switch user button
I can confirm this with Ubuntu 9.10 (karmic).
The system was upgraded from 9.04.
Same error in syslog.
