Maybe my problem is different but it could pinpoint to the solution. I went to system - admininstration - language support and selected dutch. When this was installed (and rebooted) all the packages used the correct language. Due to this I think the bug is that language support is installed

This is an issue with Norwegian Nynorsk as well. Many translations that have always been in place, are lost after upgrades the last few days. This applies to several programs, including basic Gnome functionality. -- language pack does not contain translations of all programs
