of the time without issue. When it boots to the Desktop, it looks like

Not sure if I should do anything with this bug at this point but I still
have this computer and I tried installing Ubuntu 15.10 on it. A lot of
things that used to not work with Ubuntu now do and that's encouraging
but the graphics still look like the image I posted in comment #10.

better. This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue?
Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images

Sorry but this info was not able to be loaded while in the live
environment from the affected computer. While trying ubuntu-bug linux
the launchpad site would tell me there was a problem.

Hi,
I've been helping jim on #ubuntu+1 - the IMG_0490,1,2 are photos of the
oops in kmem_cache_alloc_notrace (on init) and a general protection fault in
init.
He said Hardy worked for him but nothing more modern has; it's
encouraging that the live CD boots OK though.
