I have the same problem when pasting into thunderbird.
If I paste without format in thunderbird then it works fine.

If you use Gmail, can you start a new message in rich text mode in
FIrefox, and see if you can paste from Tomboy into the rich text mail
composer? Thanks!

It appears to be a bug when apps try to get rich text from what Tomboy
puts on the clipboard. We only recently added support for rich
copy/paste, so it is probably a bug with how we are doing it, although
it could also be something in gtk-sharp or gtk+ in Maverick.
