Binary package hint: update-manager

It's some weeks that I  haven't be able to download linux-image from 
update-manger (10.04).
In fact it says (this is a translations as my system is in Italian language) 
"W: errors downloading 
http://it.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/l/linux/linux-image-2.6.32-26-generic_2.6.32-26.48_i386.deb";
The strange thing is that both via Firefox and wget all works ok (that is the 
package can be downloaded without problems) and this is the only package that 
update-manager cannot download (I also did a "check" to sync repos but with no 
success).
