the video and log files aren't that helpful unfortunately. I'm going to
install Zeitgeist as you had some messages there and see if I can
reproduce it then.

Zeigeist made no difference to me, still can't reproduce this exactly.
I'm going to mark this as a duplicate of bug #751175 because it seems to

Title:
indicator-datetime-preferences doesn't work without evolution
I've looked through the code and don't believe this is related to
evolution. All that evolution changes in the code is whether or not the
show events tick box is active.
This is more likely to be this bug;
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/indicator-datetime/+bug/751175
Could you run ps
ps ax | grep indicator-datetime-preferences
shows no running process:
15452 pts/0 S+ 0:00 grep --color=auto indicator-datetime-preferences
I think the bug you pointed out is the correct one.. i tought it was related to
evolution removal.
if you want mark as dup or invalid.. thanks

You
if it shows no running processes at the moment, could you try running it
from the terminal, it might give a libunique error, we need to make sure
it's a duplicate before we say so ;)

Karl, I don't see the issue no more, now it always open the preferences applet
correctly.
Strange thing I haven't done any updates or manually change. I've tried to do
some reboot, tried to launch it from terminal and directly from
indicator-datetime menu, it works well.
Don't know, I hope it
Ok, I'm going to mark this as incomplete. It might just have been a
