This misbehavior is still not fixed in the Ubuntu 12.04 daily from
20120126.
As mentioned before, it should be possible to push the mouse into the
upper left edge and click to close a maximized window. Right now you
have to focus the close button exactly.

In Windows7 closing a maximized window is sweet, having that in Ubuntu
will also be cool.
