and look at the progress in the unity launcher
At first, I was under the impression that it was only a *visual* clue, the
progress bar on the unity launcher icon.
But I just recently discovered that there is also a *quicklist item* to
reveal the progress window, like it was in 11.04 but than
closing the request, it's not a bug but a design decision, you can just
minimize the dialog and look at the progress in the unity launcher

To be clear, this is a regression in 11.10, because before, the progress
window *did* minimize to the tray icon. Now it is thrown into nothing:
on the launcher you can see the progress, but the progress window it
self has become unreachable.

Thank you for your bug report, in fact the window should probably not
close or stop the copy if closed (i.e closing should match the cancel
button)
