Also, I googled for this problem (because I booted to a Live session and
didn't have the bug number at hand) and it turns out the problem occurs
with at least 2 or 3
Would it be possible for you to check if there are any BIOS updates for
you notebook? This definitely looks like a BIOS issue. Could you
please compare your BIOS version with the latest one available?

Yes, the laptop is running the latest 1.11 version of the BIOS. [1]
The BIOS is VERY unreliable though (settings for integrated peripherals being
ignored, temperature reported by coretemp was 20 degrees higher than what it
