I can confirm this for Feisty. This is not a Bittorrent problem. It is
general since it happens for every video file which is downloaded at the
moment and which is shown in Nautilus. I have this problem with
DownThemAll (Firefox plugin) too and the Thumbnailer uses 100% CPU and
lets my fan run

BTW I don't think that this is a Totem problem. I think Nautilus is the
app which starts gnome-video-thumnailer so it has to be fixed. Maybe
Nautilus shouldn't create Thumbnails for videos/files which are in use
(only writing, reading would be no problem).

Incountered something similar while testing Gutsy Gibon Tribe 3.
Nm didn't see any network device, although I could connect to the
internet and an ifconfig showed me a correctly setup eth0.

I found out that I have a the same problem printing pdf files made from
Open Office Impress slides on a HP LaserJet 4350dtn. The file itself is
just around 384kB but it cannot even queue using evince. No errors were
found in the /var/log/cups/error_log file.

in `ps aux`, and they will respond to input if I switch to any

This works consistently. With console, I rebooted about 10 times and
every single time it booted without problem. When I boot without this
time (I did it about 30 times) it panics each and every time.
