It's good to hear from others also experiencing this problem. I guess I
should clarify my original description to make it clear that Nautilus
does not hang, as in crash, it just seems to be forever trying to
generate the thumbnails. Therefore, it would seem impossible to provide
a backtrace.

I have also the same problem. The nm-applet crashes every time I try to connect
to a wireless ad-hoc network made by a Windows machine. Following differences

What you hear is what is in the sound hardwares buffers playing over and
over again. I don't think there needs to be any pulse audio driver code
involved.

its a new one, i can start empathy from panel normally, but get a machine
freeze when recive a message while im seeing the contacs tab..

After I awake my laptop after suspension or hibernation, the display is
darker than normal (reduced backlight/dimmed) and remains darker, until
I log off, when it becomes vivid again. Then I log on, and it is OK.

an update and it looks like the wireless issue is resolved.
