I'm sorry, we can't support Backtrack, only Ubuntu (and the other
distributions such as Kubuntu that are built straight out of the main
Ubuntu archive). You'll have to talk to its developers for help.
However, an input/output error generally means that there's been a
problem reading from the CD.
No, the solution doesn't work for me either. Can't understand why this
bug seems to be being ignored. There are lots of similar crash type
bugs with Ubuntuone-client all around.

with hdparm. sg_start and sdparm both open the device file in read-write
(O_RDWR) mode even though they only need to do it on read-only in order

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel
The notebook sits in a docking station. An external monitor is connected
with the docking station. Connecting the monitor via VGA works, but via
DVI doesn't. When connected via DVI, the monitor is not detected.
