This affected me in 9.10, 10.04, and 10.10 (and I started using Ubuntu
at 9.10). Usually the inhibit applet dissappears (except a slither) and
the WiFi icon gets cut off. Also in the past I have had various items
rearranging themselves which happens about once a week at the most.

Until last week I have 256.53 nvidia driver, but I was working with
openGL and with this driver every time I use openGL the screen blinks in
black for a second (I have the same problem in windows xp) so I tried to
update the driver and then I had the problem that is described here.

if im not mistaken, the first time i encoutered this problem, i moused
over one of the indicator-applets and then clicked the gnome-clock-
applet immediately. that is when it first jumped possibly because the
indicator applet was in the way and pushed it out of position. cant
confirm this though

@Simon, yes - It is fixed in the latest development version via the fix
from Debian. However, the fix will not automatically happen in both
Maverick and Lucid.
