i found the solution
1) open System Administration synaptic package manager
2) Edit fix broken packages
3) press apply
4) the fixing may hang for a little while if so
open the terminal and enter the following command
ps ax | grep mysql
if you find a process called start mysql then kill it
and

Uhm... this fix for Lucid (and therefore probably the older one in
0.7.5-5ubuntu27.5) did really break a working system!!
We had a running system with Opennebula/KVM/libvirt and after last upgrade
libvirt 0.7.5-5ubuntu27.3 0.7.5-5ubuntu27.7
creating virtual machines didn't work

Hi, I've just installed version 2:3.5.4~dfsg-1ubuntu8.1and it seem to be
okay. I did a quick test with a 1.2Mb file from my machine to the
network server, and it went back and forth fine. I did this both before
and after a reboot, just to make sure the new library was being used.

@Ole, added bug #680386 for the tvtime update. After it has been
accepted into Natty, we can request an stable release update to
Maverick, I saw Daniel suggested that in ubuntu-devel.
@Mike, the diagram is not good enough to make that conclusion. Also,
what we're removing is one of several arrows
What does The new kernel installed successfully mean, i. e. which
parts were tested by this? (e. g. ethernet, wifi, boot into a desktop
with 3D, nvidia and fglrx drivers, etc.). Thanks!

Tried to read exif data, maybe helps. I tried strace to see which file
it was causing, it was first. But i moved it to desktop and run again.
Second crashed shotwell too.

I think it was after updating from 9.04 tu 9.10 when it happened the
first time. But i was not able to reproduce this. Until now.

After a while
After much effort and searching it turns out the video cable, not the
projector, was the source for the problem. (Groan).
Windows XP only manages 800×600 with that cable so I don’t think it’s a Ubuntu
bug that I can only achieve 1024×768.
All my apologies for the disturbance. Closing as invalid

create /etc/modprobe.d/uvcvideo.conf and put the following line there:
options uvcvideo timeout=1
after reboot you can use the following command to make sure parameter setup
correctly:
cat /sys/module/uvcvideo/parameters/timeout
--
uvcvideo module randomly fails to load
