Yes, you are right. You don't need to get that series patch if you use the
linux-next tree or just wait for the next linux kernel release.
Also, you could just:

AMD Systems don't enter PC6 at runtime and cause failures to enter
s2idle.
Currently the fix is from kernel driver rather than MP2 firmware, which
