It looks like the clamav user was not removed when you purged the old
clamav packages, and then when you tried installing the new packages,
clamav-base postinst script tried to create 'clamav' user, which was
already present so the script exited, and that left the package
unconfigured.

I just did a fresh reinstall of Xubuntu 10.10 RC, and yes the problem is
that 'xfsettingsd' is not running for some reason. You can fix this by
adding 'xfsettingsd' to your Application Autostart group in the xfce 4

Yes, it will only happen to the ST6422, as most 'boards' have a
secondary Low-Bandwidth Mode to switch to when -ENOSPC is received
from the USB subsystem. However, the ST6422 lacks this functionality. As
I say, the real issue is in the USB subsystem. This has been addressed
in the latest kernels

Works for me too (10.10 x86 and Kodak Z710), but this is only
workaround, not fix. Steven, did You fill bug report for mpt plugin (I
did'nt find)?

It's not just required for CJK documents. I have come across other bug
reports with incomplete/incorrect text rendering which were fixed by
installing poppler data. I can't find any of them at the moment,
presumably because they are marked Fix Released.
I probably closed some of them myself.
Hi,
I had this problem before...
What I did was reset my bios setting. I don't know what the value was
before (sorry) nor did I know what the values are now. But something in the
bios somehow change the way Ubuntu behave and I stop having this problem...
