Happened to me today. Wrote the 12.04.2 server 64bit ISO onto two
separate USB disks using both Rufus and LiLi (which is recommended on
the wiki). Even after remounting manually from ISO I couldn't get Ubuntu

I got this after receiving a file in empathy as well (via Jabber).

I have fixed this issue for my Ubuntu 12.04 by disabling additional wireless
drivers.
Applications - System Settings - Additional Drivers - Broadcom STA
proprietary wireless driver.

this isn't gtk's fault (more related to freetype/fontconfig) andthe
prorietary MS fonts can't be fixed by Ubuntu.
