I tried to pbuild the dapper version of katapult on edgy , and it works
perfectly.
To reproduce : echo SystrayIcon=true ~/.kde/share/config/katapultrc
then : killall katapult katapult
then right click and configure on the systray icon.

I must say I totally disagree that kubuntu meeting decision.
To me there is no point calling this privacy respect.
This is probably more paranoia and honnestly, goes against simplicity and

I just found the reason of that issue - look at latest line in
/etc/kde3/klipperrc.
In the source the file is called klipperrc.desktop because it contains phrases
to be translated.
The file is renamed klipperrc during the build.

By default, connecting a HIDD peripherical requires to sudo hidd
--connect mac_address at every boot since hidd is disabled in
/etc/default/bluetooth file.
Changing HIDD_ENABLED from 0 to 1 makes connection far more easy since
you just have to perform the sudo hidd --connect
Unfortunately, kdm doesn't parse /etc/default/halt and the shutdown command is
hardcoded...
I patched to match poweroff instead of halt. Works here so changing to fix
released.

upstart doesn't obey /etc/default/halt
Just uploaded a better script.
It will use gnome if gnome stuff is installed or xterm + Xdialog if something
else, like for xubuntu.

Install MP3 support not working in Ubuntu
I simply removed kpersonalizerrc from kubuntu-system-settings package.
Now it isn't shiped by default, this is not of any use and generates the bug.
If you experience issues after this update, simply remove your
~/.kde/share/config/kpersonalizerrc, reload kde, see kpersonalizer once and for
all

How to reproduce :
Go in the search engines configuration dialog and select a new engine to enable
it in the selectbox. You don't see the apply button enabled to apply the
changes.

According to KDE developper Ervin, the problem is that kubuntu misses
hal-system-storage-* scripts.
I can see them on edgy :
locate hal-system-storage
/usr/share/hal/scripts/hal-system-storage-cleanup-mountpoint
/usr/share/hal/scripts/hal-system-storage-cleanup-mountpoints
