I have a b43 broadcom chipset for wifi, but the b43 module is very
unstable: it drops the connection after a few minutes. So i have to use
ndiswrapper. I installed the firmware just fine, and blacklisted ssb,
and b43 in order to force ndiswrapper to load.

Yes, I remove the link from the desktop after I have DnD it to the

gnome-audio-profiles-properties, which talks to gstreamer, which talks to lame
(for mp3). Thing is, manually creating switches like the following to do your

This is a major bug that Ubuntu has shipped with, and they should have
been the ones that fixed it within a week that this bug was confirmed.
But they didn't. So, don't bother and just wait for a fix.

When the panel applet is loaded it has a yellow notification window to
show what song is currently being played by XMMS. But when I use XMMS
with any www.di.fm 's radio station this yellow bar is always empty and
always visible (does not go away as it should).

I have this problem too with Feisty 7.04. My cache at the moment is 650
MBs and growing. I have being installing apps with add/remove, update
manager and Synaptic in the last 3 days. But if there is a cap for 500
MBs, it doesn't seem to work here.

playing some music/audio after resume (I used the preferences/gnome-
sound utility which is even more standard than Totem or Rhythmbox). BUT,
you can't hear ANYTHING. You have to restart the alsa daemon to get

The distance does not matter. What does matter if you first DND the icon
to the desktop and then get that desktop icon from the desktop and DND
it to the panel. But if you DND it directly from the menu, it does work
and it remembers it. But it doesn't work from the menu-desktop-panel.

There is no point of giving you xorg.conf or upgrading that laptop to
Gutsy. The bug is STILL there and is a driver limitation, not a
xorg.conf misconfiguration. I have made a bug report about the same

I connected to a couple smb shares with nautilus a few months ago, and
now both are showing on my Places menu. I want to get rid of them
because they make my menu look ugly, bloated and with no real use
