I found out that they do not mix well.
My HD is Sata 400gb. The live CD I am using is the AMD64 version.
Firstly I installed windows in a partition of 10mb (NTFS) and left
another 10mb (FAT32) for transfer.
Then I installed from the live CD, creating a swap partition (8mb
having the same issue. also tried to manually run pkg --configure -a,
but it didn't do anything and returned me a clean prompt. i just
replaced by sources.list file with a standard one for feisty and am
trying to redo the upgrade right now =)

The thing that I don't like here is that there has been no info on why
it was decided to do this even though the ubuntu team knew that this
would decrease performance drastically. All we got was an excuse and
that it wouldn't be done soon. well, it doesn't look like it will be
fixed in gutsy.. so
My bad. On gutsy, you still cannot enable dma with hdparm, but the tests look a
better:

Hi everyone
I did a clean install of Kubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala 32bit. And i got exactly the
same problem.
In my case copying folder with approx. size of 3.6 GB brought the system to a
crawl. Even moving the mouse, switching between windows was a impossible.

I've fount this problem when I've tried to use OpenX (www.openx.org). I've
installed this system on my site but I can't use it in firefox, because it
displays it in very bad way. Any other pages I've ever seen looks fine in FF.

After suspend can't do the resume. Screen is black and moon(suspend)
light on my Lenovo laptop is blinking. Have to reboot to get into
system.

I have this problem in the final version of kubuntu 9.10.
I disabled ipv6 and can use firefox and konqueror without problems, but apt-get
and konsole sometimes get 1.0.0.0 when downloading packages.
i installed dnsmasq, but still have the problem. is there a fix for this?

Single blank page shown in thumbnail, Evince and XPDF. Affects some but
not all pdf files while running Ubuntu 9.04.
Some pdf files are multiple pages when viewed in Adobe Acrobat 7.0 under
Windows 2000 XP. All display normally.

I have three different PCs, two with Jaunty and one with Mint Gloria.
The first shuts down with no beeps, the second (a Compaq DeskPro) has a
single beep and the third (a Dell Optiplex) several beeps. I do not
recall the beeps when I was using Hardy. No beeping when I log off
first before
This was my first ever bug report on Launchpad. I did not intentionally
convert it to a question. If this was something that I did
unintentionally then please accept my apologies. I would like to
understand how I did it to prevent it happening again.

I have an old Compaq Armada E700. Jaunty (Ubuntu Xubuntu) Linux Mint
Gloria live CDs will not boot on the E700. I have used the same live CDs
to install elsewhere so I know they are all good.
E700 worked well with Intrepid (Ubuntu, Xubuntu), Hardy (Ubuntu) and
Feisty (Ubuntu). I (rather
