Hello again, it seems that the issue arose again, I don't know at what
point but it's still present. Apparently the kernel upgrade didn't fix
the issue, because when it appeared back on the new install I upgraded
the kernel again to current version, and it's still happening

I finally found out the cause for this, still no idea about a proper solution.
I am using vmware horizon to connect to a windows computer, it has a funcion
called usb redirection that allows you to use your usb from the windows
computer.

I've moved from Kubuntu 8.04 32bits to Ubuntu 8.10 64bits.
I'm experiencing the same problem with gnome-pilot; I name the device,
set it to use usb (usb:), press the sync button and... nothing happens,
no beep nor sync.
Visor is not loaded.

I've been working with konqueror for long, and now I've moved to Gnome
Firefox; I find the way Konqueror has to close tabs easier to work with:
only one cross on the right hand side of the tabs bar, used to close
the active tab -instead

I've got the same problem in my Vaio TX3, but, as it works fine in
gnome, I assume it's a kde problem.
Running Gutsy w backports 3.5.9 up to date.

Same problem here. SOLVED
In Ubuntu, if you press CTRL-SHIFT-NUMLOCK you turn the keypad into a
keypress/mouse cursor mode. Try typing ctrl-shift-numlock to turn this
mode off

ekiga can't
i've resolved the problem deleting .mozilla directoy. It's in your home dir
(/home/USER_NAME). On ubuntu, with Nautilus, you can switch option to see
hide dirs.
