I updated, and it broke. I updated again, and it fixed it. What was it
that fixed it? I have no clue, but it works on all of my machines now
where it was broken previously. I think Michal said it was fixed for him
as well, but I will poke him with Sarah's pointy stick of doom on IRC
and find out.

sudo /etc/usplash.conf

The shutdown usplash uses /etc/usplash.conf as well correct? I had a
period where I didn't have a usplash display as well when shutting down,
however, my computer would go into a sleep state almost, and wouldn't
shutdown. I take it your shutdown is normal, just without a usplash?

To fix this, at the command line type:
sudo nano /etc/usplash.conf
Make sure it resembles:
# Usplash configuration file
xres=1024
yres=768
Save and close the usplash.conf file. Then type:
sudo update-initramfs -u
Reboot!

i am guessing you are using GNOME 2.16.1 in Edgy? My Rythmbox runs fine
here with GNOME 2.16.1 in Edubuntu Edgy (updated fully).

help.ubuntu.com/community when you refer to HowTo's?
There are a few thousand HowTo's on both wiki's, including the forums
and the UDSF.

I wouldn't want to touch Compiz right now actually, but as for the
networking stuff, we are going to look into more documentation for that
in the future.
As for the converting Wiki to Docbook, there is a moinmoin module in
